



The total number of documents found in the search is also displayed. The Search document window displays documents, ranked according to how often and how prominently the search terms appear in the text. The search results page displays a list of documents returned from the search that can be viewed and coded from the same page or saved for later review. On the other machines, you're pointing each cabinet to the shared index.LEP's search engine looks through the full text of all documents in a case and returns any documents containing the desired search terms. In a nutshell, you're generating and maintaining the indexes on one machine. Set the Custom Index Path to the path you noted on the "owner" machine.Go into the Cabinets button on the main toolbar.Make sure Enable Auto Indexer is turned off.Make sure that Enable dtSearch is selected and the Default Search Engine is set to dtSearch.Set Up Other Machinesįinally, go to each one of your other machines and do the following: Edit each of the cabinets you indexed and look at the Index tab. Once indexing is done, go back to the Cabinets button on the main toolbar. Now go to lunch while FileCenter builds the indexes. Put a checkmark next to each cabinet you'll be indexing.Go to the Cabinets button on the main toolbar.You can optionally force the indexes to generate now: Establish a time for the indexer to run each day.Select each of the network cabinets you want to index.Set the Root Path for Network Indexes to the folder you just created.Still in Settings, select dtSearch Indexing on the left.Select Enable dtSearch and set the Default Search Engine to dtSearch.This machine will be in charge of maintaining the index. One machine needs to be the index "owner".

On the network, set up a new folder to hold the indexes. NOTE: The dtSearch engine is only available in FileCenter Professional. If you use the dtSearch engine (formerly called "Advanced Search"), it's possible to share an index between all of your users as opposed to having each user generate their own index.
